Washington, D.C. – Chair Raúl M. Grijalva (D-Ariz.) and House Oversight and Reform Committee Chairman Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) today sent a letter with Rep. TJ Cox (D-Calif.), chair of the Natural Resources Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, and Rep. Harley Rouda (D-Calif.), chair of the Oversight and Reform Subcommittee on the Environment, to top House appropriators urging a funding increase sufficient to hire at least 10 new full-time employees dedicated to FOIA response.

Cummings, the Chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform, and Senator Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) released a newly declassified report from the nonpartisan Government Accountability Office (GAO) that examined covert testing used by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to identify aviation security vulnerabilities.

Cummings, the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, led House Democrats in sending a letter urging the House Committee on Appropriations to deny funds for the implementation of President Trump's government reorganization plan and the proposed merger of Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and the General Services Administration (GSA).
Washington, D.C. (Apr. 2, 2019)—Today, the Committee on Oversight and Reform voted to authorize Chairman Elijah E. Cummings to issue a subpoena for testimony to President Trump's former White House Personnel Security Director and three additional subpoenas relating to the Trump Administration's secret efforts to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census. One Republican Committee Member voted in favor of the census-related subpoenas.
Cummings has now served all four subpoenas.
