Ranking Member Robert Garcia Holds House Republicans’ Feet to the Fire, Demands DOJ Subpoena Timeline & Enforcement for Epstein Files

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, sent a letter to Chairman James Comer, requesting Committee Republicans immediately subpoena the Department of Justice (DOJ) for the Epstein files after Rep. Summer L. Lee successfully motioned to issue the subpoena during a Subcommittee on Federal Law Enforcement hearing in a 8-2 vote yesterday.  

 “Committee Democrats won the fight for transparency, successfully passing a motion to force the Department of Justice to release the Epstein files.  Today, I’m writing Chairman Comer requesting he immediately make good on his promise to issue the official subpoena.  This is not the time for Republicans to drag their feet.  We will keep pushing until the American people finally get the truth they deserve – nothing less.”
