Ranking Member Garcia’s Statement On Today’s Transcribed Interview with Neera Tanden

Washington, D.C. (June 24, 2025)— Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released a statement on House Oversight Republicans’ first transcribed interview of the 119th Congress, which only served to refute Republican claims:

“Contrary to Chairman Comer’s promises to Fox News, today’s transcribed interview produced no new information, no evidence, and no wrongdoing by President Biden.  Instead of working to lower costs for American families or protect their data, Republicans spent the day obsessing over office layouts and coffee meetings.

“It’s clear what their agenda is: reward billionaires with tax giveaways, strip health care from millions, and attack President Biden.  Just like their failed impeachment stunt, today was another political sideshow—wasting time, taxpayer money, and delivering nothing for the American people.  The truth is, Republicans aren’t governing for the public—they’re staging performances to please Donald Trump.”
