WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, eight Democratic members of House Committees on Financial Services and Oversight and Government Reform (OGR) called on the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to send a strong message that corporate practices to deter whistleblowers from reporting violations of securities laws will not be tolerated.
Washington, DC – In his opening statement for today's hearing on Ebola, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, commended the International Medical Corps for its work combatting Ebola in Africa and urged all Committee Members to carefully review the group's detailed testimony, which included specific recommendations to address this crisis at its source in order to protect Americans.
At today's House Oversight Committee hearing on Ebola, Ranking Member Elijah Cummings asked International Medical Corps' Senior Vice President Rabih Torbay about the organization's work combatting Ebola in Africa. Torbay testified that the organization needs three things: people to help with treatment and burying bodies, commodities like disinfectant and ambulances, and money for supplies to prevent infection and treatment beds.

Washington, DC – Today, Rep. Elijah E. "I want her to go if she cannot restore trust in the agency, and if she cannot get the culture back in order," said Cummings. "I told her that she's got a tall order there."
