Meeting Follows Changes to FHFA’s Home Affordable Refinance Program

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Ranking Member Elijah E. Cummings and other Members will meet with Edward DeMarco, Acting Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency (FHFA), to discuss additional actions the agency can take to address the foreclosure crisis following changes announced Monday to its Home Affordable Refinance Program.

FHFA’s changes addressed concerns expressed by Cummings and other Members at an October 6 meeting with DeMarco about his plans to implement President Obama’s mortgage refinance proposal to help Americans take advantage of today’s record-low interest rates.
