Ranking Member Robert Garcia Statement on Upcoming Deposition of Attorney General Pam Bondi

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released the following statement after a subpoena was formally issued for the deposition of Attorney General Pam Bondi.

“Pam Bondi continues to lead a White House cover-up that has concealed the full Epstein files while ignoring both the Oversight Committee’s subpoena and the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

The Department of Justice has repeatedly exposed survivors while protecting the names of powerful individuals involved in Epstein’s crimes.

Thanks to united Oversight Committee Democrats, along with the support of several Republicans, the Attorney General will now appear before our committee under oath. No more lies. No more distractions. We want the truth—and justice for the survivors,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia.

Earlier this month, the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform secured a subpoena for Attorney General Pam Bondi following a motion by Congresswoman Nancy Mace supported by all Committee Democrats. Attorney General Bondi has failed to comply with the bipartisan House Oversight Committee subpoena issued in August 2025, requiring the release of the complete, unredacted files to the Committee, and as the Department of Justice (DOJ) under her leadership continues to illegally withhold and conceal Epstein file materials from Congress. All Oversight Democrats in attendance voted in the affirmative, joined by Republican Rep. Nancy Mace, Rep. Lauren Boebert, Rep. Michael Cloud, Rep. Scott Perry, and Rep. Tim Burchett. The bipartisan subpoena passed the House Oversight Committee 24 to 19.
