New Albany, OH — Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released the following statement after the deposition of Jeffrey Epstein client and billionaire benefactor Les Wexner. This deposition comes after subpoenas for multiple Epstein associates were formally issued by the Oversight Committee.
“There was no one more involved in providing Jeffrey Epstein with the wealth and financial support he needed to commit his crimes than Les Wexner. There would be no Epstein Island, no Epstein plane, and no money to traffic women and girls without the wealth of Les Wexner. And yet, with all this evidence, Mr. Wexner admitted that the FBI and DOJ never questioned him. That’s outrageous and unforgivable. Donald Trump and Attorney General Pam Bondi are leading a White House cover-up, and we will not stop fighting until we get answers for the survivors and the American people,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia.
Ranking Member Garcia attended Wexner’s deposition in New Albany, OH, along with Oversight Democrats Representatives Stephen Lynch, Rashida Tlaib, Jasmine Crockett, Yassamin Ansari, and Dave Min.
Les Wexner is a billionaire businessman, a long-time benefactor of Jeffrey Epstein, and at one point, was Epstein’s only documented client. Public reporting has documented their longstanding ties, including the fact Wexner paid for Epstein’s home in New York City. Additionally, Virginia Giuffre named Wexner in a deposition as one of the men she was trafficked to.
