Ranking Member Robert Garcia Statement As Epstein White House Cover-Up Continues, DOJ Releases Only Half of Epstein Files After Months of Defying Oversight Committee Subpoena and Epstein Files Transparency Act

Washington, D.C. — Today, Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released the following statement after the Department of Justice’s Deputy Attorney General, and former Trump personal lawyer, Todd Blanche announced that today, the Department released 3 million pages of the Epstein files, out of the total 6 million pages they collected. This comes after months of defying both the Oversight Committee August 5th subpoena issued by the Oversight Committee and the Epstein Files Transparency Act.

“Donald Trump and his Department of Justice have now made it clear that they intend to withhold roughly 50% of the Epstein files, while claiming to have fully complied with the law. This is outrageous and incredibly concerning.

The Oversight Committee subpoena directs Pam Bondi to release all the files to the committee, while protecting survivors. They are in violation of the law.

We are demanding the names of Epstein’s co-conspirators and the men and pedophiles who abused women and girls. We will begin a thorough review of this latest limited production, but let's be clear: our work and investigation are just getting started,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia.
