Washington, D.C. — Rep. Robert Garcia, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, wrote to three private investigators who were contracted by Epstein’s legal team in Florida. During a deposition last week before the Committee, Epstein’s personal attorney, Darren Indyke, confirmed Epstein’s hard drives had been obtained by private investigators. In the letters, the Ranking Member requests each individual sit for an interview before the Committee, and to preserve everything the investigators may possess from Epstein’s home. The full list of items that the private investigators removed from Epstein’s home can be viewed here. These private investigators, who worked for Epstein’s lawyers, may hold key evidence never provided to law enforcement. The letters can be viewed here, here, and here.
“It’s stunning that Jeffrey Epstein’s computers and hard drives were in the possession of Epstein’s private investigators and may never have been seen by any law enforcement agency. This information, discovered by Oversight Democrats during the deposition of Epstein’s personal attorney Darren Indyke, is critical as we continue our search for the truth. Oversight Democrats are working to access these hard drives and items and speak directly with the private investigators. We will identify every co-conspirator who shielded Epstein and hold them accountable,” said Ranking Member Robert Garcia.
In the letters, Ranking Member Garcia wrote, “The Committee on Oversight and Government Reform is investigating matters related to Jeffrey Epstein and his co-conspirators, the horrific crimes he committed, and the circumstances that enabled Epstein to continue his abuse. New information provided by Darren Indyke, Epstein’s personal attorney, during his deposition before the Committee on March 19, 2026, leads the Committee to believe that you may possess evidence and/or information that will advance our investigation. We request that you cooperate with the Committee’s investigation and make yourself available for a transcribed interview with Committee staff, as well as preserve all relevant materials in your possession.”
