Ranking Member Connolly Condemns President Trump’s Executive Order Ending Civil Rights Programs in Federal Agencies
January 22, 2025
Washington, D.C. (January 22, 2025)—Today, Rep. Gerald E. Connolly, Ranking Member of the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, released the following statement in response to President Donald Trump’s Executive Order that will end civil rights programs in federal agencies and purge all workers in these roles.
“Donald Trump has used his second day in office to continue his attacks on the federal workforce. Diversity is our strength, and civil rights are our priority. Unfortunately, President Trump is more focused on protecting the Proud Boys than ensuring we have an expert, professionalized, federal workforce that serves all Americans.”
