Washington, D.C. (Nov. 30, 2018)—Today, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, issued the following statement on the announcement that Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) was chosen by the Republican Steering Committee as the new Ranking Member, subject to final approval by the full GOP conference:

Jordan on becoming Ranking Member, and I look forward to working with him in a bipartisan way.  The Oversight Committee is the primary investigative body of Congress, and I am hopeful that we can work together to conduct responsible oversight and give the American people what they want and voted for in this election: accountability and transparency from this Administration.”
