Cummings Announces Subcommittee Ranking Members for 115th Congress
Washington, D.C. (Jan. 24, 2017) – Today, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, announced the subcommittee Ranking Members for the 115th Congress and released the following statement:
“I am so proud to announce our new subcommittee Ranking Members, each of whom brings a truly unique background and diverse set of experiences that will greatly improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Oversight Committee’s critical work. Committee Democrats will continue to advance an aggressive agenda that prioritizes the needs of the American people and improves their lives in real and meaningful ways.”
Subcommittee Ranking Members include:
- The Subcommittee on National Security: Ranking Member Stephen F. Lynch (Massachusetts)
- The Subcommittee on Government Operations: Ranking Member Gerald Connolly (Virginia)
- The Subcommittee on Information Technology: Ranking Member Robin Kelly (Illinois)
- The Subcommittee on the Interior, Energy and Environment: Ranking Member Stacey Plaskett (Virgin Islands)
- The Subcommittee on Intergovernmental Affairs: Ranking Member Val Demings (Florida)
- The Subcommittee on Health Care, Benefits and Administrative Rules: Ranking Member Raja Krishnamoorthi (Illinois)
In addition, the Committee unanimously elected Connolly as Vice-Ranking Member of the Committee.
