Clyburn Hails Enactment of American Rescue Plan
Select Subcommittee Will Work to Ensure Successful Implementation
Washington D.C. (March 11, 2021)—Today, Rep. James E. Clyburn, the Chairman of the Select Subcommittee on the Coronavirus Crisis, issued the following statement on President Biden signing the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 into law: "As the President speaks tonight and we gather tomorrow at the White House to mark the enactment of the American Rescue Plan, I join the American people in taking stock of the difficult year that has passed and looking hopefully toward better days to come. Because of the leadership and swift action of the Biden-Harris Administration and Democratic majorities in Congress, lives are being saved, financial lifelines are being provided, and the groundwork is being laid for a healthier and more prosperous future for all communities. "Our work is just beginning. The Select Subcommittee is committed to ensuring that this landmark legislation is implemented effectively, efficiently, and equitably. At the same time this rescue is carried out, Congress must work to move our nation toward a strong, inclusive, and sustained recovery and renewal. We must boldly invest in America to build back better." |
