Chairwoman Maloney to Unveil New Report Highlighting Billions of Taxpayer Savings Lost Because of Prohibition on Medicare Negotiation

Washington, D.C. (September 22, 2021)— As the House of Representatives readies a vote on the Build Back Better Act, on Thursday, September 23 at 10:15 a.m. ET, Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, the Chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, will hold a press conference with Rep. Frank Pallone, Jr., Chairman of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, Rep. Peter Welch, member of the Committees on Oversight and Reform and Energy and Commerce, and Frederick Isasi, Executive Director of Families USA, to unveil a new Oversight and Reform Committee staff report that sheds light on the billions of dollars taxpayers could have saved if Medicare was allowed to directly negotiate the price of prescription drugs with drug companies.
