Chairwoman Maloney to Join ERA Coalition, Congressional Leaders at Press Conference Pushing for Certification of Equal Rights Amendment
Washington, D.C. (October 19, 2021)—On Thursday, October 21, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. ET, Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, the Chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, will join the ERA Coalition, Actor and Activist Alyssa Milano, and congressional leaders in calling for the Equal Rights Amendment to be enshrined in the U.S. Constitution.
Immediately following the press conference, at 10 a.m. ET, the Committee will hold a hearing entitled, "The Equal Rights Amendment: Achieving Constitutional Equality for All" to commemorate the 50th anniversary of House passage of the ERA and examine the final steps necessary to certify and publish the ERA as the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
