Chairwoman Maloney to Hold Hearing on H.R. 564, the Comprehensive Paid Leave for Federal Employees Act

Washington D.C. (June 21, 2021)—On Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 10:00 a.m., Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, Chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, will hold a hearing on H.R. 564, the Comprehensive Paid Leave for Federal Employees Act. The bill would provide up to 12 weeks of paid leave to over 2.6 million federal employees for needs related to family caregiving, medical issues, and military deployments, as specified in the Family and Medical Leave Act of 1993. This legislation aligns with the goal of President Biden's American Families Plan to create a national comprehensive paid family and medical leave program.
