The coronavirus is a global crisis that requires a global response. Weak states in sub-Saharan Africa are especially vulnerableto the coronavirus pandemic.Widespread poverty and limited access to healthcare and basic services will likely perpetuate the spread of the coronavirus, exacerbate ongoing humanitarian and development crises, and threaten U.S. national security interests.
