Washington, DC —Today, Rep. Elijah E. Cummings, Ranking Member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, issued the following statement regarding today's announcement from the General Counsel of the National Labor Relations Board that it has dismissed its complaint against Boeing after the company and its workers reached an agreement to keep jobs in Washington State:

Washington, DC – Today, Ranking Member Elijah E. Cummings sent a letter to Chairman Issa raising serious concerns with new documents that suggest that Boeing inappropriately sought to use its political influence in Congress to prevent the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) from filing its enforcement action against Boeing for discriminating against its workers in Washington State.

Thirty-four law professors wrote to Chairman Issa today urging him not to issue a subpoena to compel the disclosure of all documents relating to the NLRB's Office of General Counsel's investigation of Boeing's alleged discrimination against workers' rights.

(July 26, 2011) Washington, DC – Today, all Democratic Members of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee sent a letter to Chairman Darrell Issa requesting a full Committee debate and vote before issuing any subpoena to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for documents related to its ongoing litigation against the Boeing Corporation for allegedly retaliating against workers in Washington State.
