Today, Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, the Chairwoman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, along with the Chairmen of the Subcommittees on Government Operations, Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, Economic and Consumer Policy, and Environment, announced that four Subcommittees will hold an in-depth, two-day series of hearings to examine the negative effects of regulations proposed by the Trump Administration relating to children's poverty, housing, hunger, and health.
Today, the House of Representatives passed the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2020 (NDAA) with two landmark provisions, one from Rep. Carolyn B. Maloney, the Chairwoman of the Oversight and Reform Committee, to provide paid family leave for federal employees; and one by the late Chairman Elijah E. Cummings to reform the nation's criminal justice system.
