Cummings, the Chairman of the Committee on Oversight and Reform, spoke at a press conference following the House passage of H.Res. 430, which authorizes committee chairs to go directly to court to fully enforce their subpoenas without a full House vote.

(June 11, 2019)— On Wednesday, June 12, 2019, the Committee on Oversight and Reform will hold a business meeting to vote to hold Attorney General William Barr and Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in contempt of Congress for withholding documents relating to the Census and to consider legislation that will improve government and ensure coverage for federal employees during government shutdowns. |

The resolution passed by a vote of 229 to 191.
