Under the Trump Administration, reports of abuse and possible misconduct during federal immigration enforcement operations have been widespread — including serious allegations against officers with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).
To fulfill our oversight and legislative responsibilities to protect and defend the Constitution, Oversight Committee Democrats are compiling a verified public record of possible misconduct incidents after they occur. This work is part of our ongoing effort to hold the federal government accountable to the people it serves, and to help Congress, journalists, and the public monitor patterns of possible misconduct that threaten civil rights, due process, and the rule of law. To support these efforts, each incident is broadly categorized under one or more of the following types of possible misconduct: "concerning use of force," "concerning arrest/detention," "concerning deportation," and an "enforcement action at a sensitive location." Incidents involving U.S. Citizens are also categorized with a "U.S. Citizen" tag.
The Dashboard records possible misconduct after it occurs; it is not a live or location-based tracking tool. We are not tracking officer movements, highlighting officer names or private information, or putting anyone at risk.
Committee staff have reviewed hundreds of instances of alleged possible misconduct committed during interior immigration enforcement operations under the Trump Administration. Only incidents verified by reputable media outlets or referenced in litigation are included. Social media videos without corroboration are not. Many news articles include statements by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The Trump Administration is lying, including under oath, about possible misconduct among federal immigration enforcement activities. Oversight Democrats are demanding the Department of Homeland Security investigate each of the incidents listed in this Dashboard.
